Dumpor Not Working? Where It Went and What to Use

Dumpor now lives at dumpor.io, and Smihub and Greatfon redirect there too. Why it fails some days, and what to use when it won't load a story in 2026.

Free, no login, and your name never appears in their viewer list.

The Short Answer

Quick answer: Dumpor isn't gone. It moved to dumpor.io, and the old dumpor.com, Smihub and Greatfon addresses all redirect there now. When it won't load a story, the cause is usually Instagram blocking its requests for a while. Try again later, or use another no login story viewer for public accounts.

Private accounts won't open on any of them. That part never changes.

What I Found When I Checked

I checked the old addresses on October 10, 2026.

dumpor.com sent me to dumpor.io. So did smihub.com. So did greatfon.com.

That's three names people still search for, all landing on one site.

I opened dumpor.io too. It loaded fine and listed its tools: a story viewer, a profile viewer, reels, highlights, tagged posts, and a followers and following viewer.

So if an old bookmark fails, the brand didn't die. The address changed.

Smihub and Greatfon Are the Same Site Now

This trips people up.

You might search for a Dumpor alternative and land on Smihub. Or on Greatfon. They look like three different options.

Today they aren't. All three addresses end up on dumpor.io.

That matters when one is down. Switching from Dumpor to Smihub won't help if they're the same service.

For a real backup, pick a viewer run by someone else entirely.

What Dumpor Says It Can Show

Its home page advertises seven free tools. Here's what they cover, in its own words:

ToolWhat it opens
Story viewerCurrent public stories
Story downloaderSaves a public story
Profile viewerBio, picture, post grid
Reels viewerPublic reels
Highlights viewerSaved story highlights
Tagged viewerPosts others tagged them in
Followers viewerFollowers and following lists

All of it is public content only. A list like this is a promise, not proof, so judge it by whether your account actually loads.

How These Viewers Work

Anonymous viewers don't have a special Instagram pass.

They fetch a public profile from their own servers, then show you the result. Your Instagram account never touches it, which is why the owner can't see you.

That's a form of web scraping: a program reads a public page the way a browser would.

It also explains why they break. Instagram doesn't want automated traffic, so it pushes back.

Why Dumpor Fails Some Days

When a viewer loads but shows no stories, Instagram is usually limiting its requests.

Instagram watches for lots of requests from the same servers. When it spots them, it slows them down or blocks them for a while.

Popular viewers get hit hardest. More users means more requests, which means more blocks.

There's nothing wrong with your phone or your connection when this happens.

Waiting an hour often fixes it. So does trying a different viewer.

Signs the Problem Is the Viewer, Not You

A few clues tell you it's the site.

The profile loads but stories show as empty, even for an account you know posted today.

The page spins forever on a username that definitely exists.

You get an error for every account you try, not just one.

If only one account fails, that account might be private, deleted, or simply has no story up right now. Stories vanish after 24 hours.

What to Use When Dumpor Is Down

Here's what to try, in order.

OptionWorks forLogin needed
Another anonymous viewerPublic stories, posts, highlightsNo
Instagram in a browserPublic profile gridNo, for a few views
Google search for the usernameFinding the profileNo
Your own Instagram accountEverything publicYes, and they'll see you

The first option is the only one that shows stories without a login.

The browser shows a public grid, but stories need a login there.

Option 1: A Different Anonymous Viewer

Pick one that isn't part of the Dumpor group.

Type the username, not a full link. Most viewers want just the name, without the @ sign.

You can try our own anonymous viewer, linked at the top of this page. It shows public stories, posts and highlights without asking you to log in.

If a second viewer also fails on the same account, the account is probably private or has no active story.

If it works there, Dumpor was just having a bad day.

Option 2: Open the Profile in a Browser

Type instagram.com/username into any browser.

For a public account, you'll often see the profile and some posts before a login prompt appears.

That's enough to check a bio, a profile picture or a recent post.

It won't show stories. Instagram keeps those behind a login on the web.

And after a few pages, the login wall gets pushy. Use this for a quick look, not a long scroll.

Option 3: Search Google for the Profile

Sometimes you don't know the exact username.

Search Google for site:instagram.com plus the person's name. The results list matching profiles.

Once you have the username, paste it into a viewer.

This is also a good way to confirm an account still exists. If it was deleted, Google's results fade out over time.

Our guide on searching Instagram without an account covers this in detail.

What No Viewer Can Do

Be wary of any site that promises these:

Private accounts. No legit viewer opens them. The content isn't public, so there's nothing to fetch.

Close Friends stories. Those only go to people on the list.

Deleted stories. Once a story is gone, viewers can't pull it back.

Sites that claim otherwise usually want a survey, an app install or a payment. You'll get nothing for it.

Is Dumpor Safe?

Using it to look at public content is low risk. You don't log in, so your Instagram password isn't involved.

The risk is around it. Clone sites copy popular names and add pushy ads or fake download buttons.

Two habits keep you safe. Never type your Instagram password into a viewer. Never install an app a viewer pushes on you.

If a site asks for either, close it. Our list of story viewer scams shows the common tricks.

Does the Account Owner Know?

No. When you view a story through Dumpor or any similar viewer, the request comes from the viewer's servers.

Your Instagram account isn't involved, so your name doesn't land in their viewer list.

The same goes for highlights and posts.

Nothing on their side links the view back to you. They won't see your name or your account.

Dumpor on a Phone

Dumpor works in a phone browser. You don't need an app.

Open Chrome or Safari, go to the site, and type the username.

Apps claiming to be Dumpor in an app store deserve suspicion. Viewers like this mostly live on the web.

If a page asks you to install something to see a story, skip it.

Any viewer you can open in a browser works the same on a phone, a tablet or a laptop.

My Short Checklist

When Dumpor won't load, run through this:

  1. 1Type dumpor.io yourself instead of an old link.
  2. 2Check the account is public and posted in the last 24 hours.
  3. 3Try a viewer outside the Dumpor group.
  4. 4Wait an hour and try again.
  5. 5Never enter a password or install an app.

That covers almost every case I could find. The fix is usually patience or a second viewer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Dumpor still working in 2026?

Yes, at dumpor.io. The old dumpor.com address redirects there, as do Smihub and Greatfon. Some days it shows empty stories when Instagram limits its requests, so try again later or use another viewer.

Are Smihub and Greatfon the same as Dumpor?

Today, yes. Both smihub.com and greatfon.com redirect to dumpor.io. So if Dumpor is down, switching to them won't help. Pick a viewer from a different owner.

Why does Dumpor show no stories?

Usually because Instagram is limiting its requests for a while. It can also mean the account is private, has no story up, or the story expired after 24 hours. Try a second viewer to tell which.

Can Dumpor view private Instagram accounts?

No. No legit viewer can, because private content isn't public. Our guide on private vs public accounts explains what any viewer can and can't show.
