The Short Answer
Quick answer: Picnob and Pixwox didn't shut down. Both now send you to a newer site, Pixnoy. Their home pages show a notice that says "This website has moved. The new website is www.pixnoy.com." Their inner pages redirect there automatically. The three domains share a registrar and Cloudflare name servers, so they're very likely one operator.
If Pixnoy won't load for you, our anonymous story viewer is a simple backup for public stories.
What I Checked
I didn't run profile searches for this post. Instead, I checked how the three sites connect.
- 1The home pages of Picnob and Pixwox, side by side.
- 2Where their inner pages send you, like the privacy page and a profile page.
- 3The public registry records for all three domains.
- 4The ad code each home page loads.
That's enough to answer the big question. Is this one site under three names?
The Moved Notice
Open picnob.com or pixwox.com today and you'll still get the usual search box. Near the top sits a short notice: "This website has moved. The new website is www.pixnoy.com. Please update your bookmarks."
The rest of the home page still loads. You can still read the features list and the FAQ. But the notice tells you where the operator wants you to go.
Both home pages carry the same notice, word for word.
The Redirects Tell the Real Story
The notice is polite. The redirects aren't optional.
I requested Picnob's privacy page and its about page. Both sent me straight to the same pages on pixnoy.com. Pixwox did the same with its privacy page. A Picnob profile page and a Pixwox profile page both went to the matching Pixnoy address.
These are permanent redirects, the kind a site uses when a move is final. So old bookmarks and shared links still work. They just land on Pixnoy now.
Picnob and Pixwox Were Always Twins
This isn't two rivals merging. When I compared the two home pages, they were identical apart from the site name. Every sentence matched once I swapped "Picnob" for "Pixwox".
The registry records point the same way. Both domains use the registrar NameSilo. Each one also uses the same pair of Cloudflare name servers, leonard and maya.
Pixwox was registered on 30 January 2021 and Picnob on 22 December 2022. So one team most likely ran both names for years.
Where Pixnoy Comes In
Pixnoy is the newest of the three. Its registry record shows it was registered on 25 March 2025 and last changed on 11 March 2026.
It also uses NameSilo and the same leonard and maya name servers. That's the setup the other two use.
Shared name servers aren't proof on their own. Cloudflare reuses the same name server pairs across many customers. But together with the redirects and the moved notice, the picture is clear enough.
Why Would a Viewer Change Its Name?
The sites don't explain it, so here's the honest answer: I don't know their reason.
What I can tell you is that name changes are common in this corner of the web. Viewer sites depend on pulling data from Instagram, and Instagram tries to block them. A domain can get blocked or drop out of search. A fresh domain is one way to start over.
We saw a similar shuffle when Smihub started pointing to Dumpor. Names come and go fast in this space.
Is Pixnoy Safe?
Treat it like any free viewer. It's fine for a quick look at a public profile, as long as you never type your Instagram password into it.
Picnob's own FAQ asked "Is Picnob Safe?" and answered, "Extremely safe. We do not save any browsing history, IP addresses, or personal information."
I can't check what a site stores on its servers. Nobody outside can. But I can check what the page loads, and that tells part of the story.
The Ad Code on the Page
Picnob's home page loads several scripts from The Moneytizer, an ad network. When I looked at Pixwox, it loaded the same network under a different site ID.
That matters for the "no IP tracking" promise on the home page. When your browser loads an ad script, it connects to the ad company's servers directly. That company sees your IP address and basic device details, whatever the viewer site itself keeps.
Ads are how free viewers pay for servers, so this isn't a scandal. It just means "completely anonymous" is a stretch.
Does Pixnoy Need Your Login?
Picnob's FAQ asked "Do I Need to Log Into Instagram?" and answered, "Not at all." I couldn't load Pixnoy's own pages with a simple script, because Cloudflare showed a bot check. So I'm going by the old sites' text here.
Hold the new site to that promise. If a page on Pixnoy or a copycat ever asks for your Instagram login, close it. No viewer needs your password to show public posts. Our guide to story viewer scams covers the tricks that do ask.
Can It Show Private Accounts?
No. Picnob's FAQ was direct about it: "No, we only support public accounts and content."
It also explained gaps you might see. Content can fail to show if "the account is private, the content has been deleted, or due to temporary Instagram restrictions."
That's honest, and it matches how every real viewer works. Any site that promises private profiles wants something from you. Our post on private vs public accounts explains why.
Will Anyone Know You Looked?
Picnob promised "fully anonymous access", and the logic holds for public stories. The site never asks for your account, so your name has nothing to attach to.
Whatever the site uses to fetch a story isn't you. That said, nobody outside Instagram can promise what Instagram logs on its own side.
So your name shouldn't show up in anyone's viewer list. Just don't treat any viewer as magic, and remember the ad company still sees your visit.
Pixnoy Links Are Already on Reddit
Here's a detail I didn't expect. Pixnoy post links show up in Reddit posts from October 2026. In aviation subreddits, people share Instagram photos and videos through Pixnoy links, often next to a credit line for the photographer.
That shows the new domain works for public posts, at least on the days those links went up.
Reddit is quiet about the move itself, though. My searches for Picnob and Pixnoy found no thread discussing the switch.
What If Pixnoy Isn't Working?
Google already suggests searches like "pixnoy not working" and "pixnoy alternative", so people do hit problems.
Try these steps in order.
- 1Reload once, then wait a few minutes.
- 2Switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data, or the other way round.
- 3Check that the account is still public.
- 4If none of that works, use another viewer for public stories.
If the old Picnob address won't load at all, type pixnoy.com directly. The redirect is only a shortcut.
Watch Out for Copycat Sites
Name changes are a gift to copycats. When people search "picnob" or "pixwox" and land somewhere new, they're less sure what the real site looks like.
- 1Type pixnoy.com yourself instead of tapping ads.
- 2Ignore pages that ask you to install an app or an "update".
- 3Never enter an Instagram login on any viewer.
- 4Close pop ups that ask to send notifications.
Google also suggests a search for "picnob pro". Be careful with any site that sells a paid version of a free viewer.
How to Check a Viewer Move Yourself
You can confirm a move like this in a few minutes.
- 1Look up both domains on ICANN's lookup tool. Compare the registrar and the name servers.
- 2Open an inner page of the old site, like its privacy page, and watch where it lands.
- 3Compare the home page text. Text copied word for word is a strong sign of one owner.
We used the same kind of check when Iganony went dark. The registry record told us more than any Reddit thread.
Which Address Should You Use?
Use pixnoy.com. The two older names point there anyway, so going direct saves a redirect.
Keep your expectations simple. It's a free viewer for public profiles. It runs ads, and it can't open private accounts. On bad days it may not load at all, like every viewer in this space.
If you already have Picnob or Pixwox bookmarked, swap the bookmark now. That way you'll still reach the site if the old domains stop redirecting one day.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Picnob the same as Pixwox?
Almost certainly. Their home pages match word for word apart from the name. They share a registrar and Cloudflare name servers, and both now redirect to Pixnoy.
Why does Picnob redirect to Pixnoy?
Both Picnob and Pixwox show a notice that says the website has moved to www.pixnoy.com, and their inner pages redirect there. The sites don't give a reason for the move.
Is Pixnoy safe?
It's fine for a quick look at public profiles if you never enter your Instagram login. The old Picnob and Pixwox pages loaded ads from The Moneytizer, so expect ad tracking on Pixnoy too. It can't open private accounts.
Can Pixnoy see private Instagram accounts?
No. Picnob's own FAQ said it only supports public accounts and content. No honest viewer can open a private account, and any site that promises it is after your login or your money.
What's a good alternative to Picnob?
Pixnoy is the same service under a new name. If it's down, try a different viewer for public profiles. Our Imginn and Picuki alternatives post lists options that still work.
